I'm letting the cat out of the bag here a bit but Blockchain Ultra is my new secret weapon. It's great for hyping instruments or placing them in an unconventional space. It's incredibly easy to use and sounds great for everyday use but you can also go down the rabbit hole of experimentalism and find complex textures that are completely off the wall. Also, the clever implementation of randomisation means that you can make truly unique sounds that are only your own.
Desert Island Plugin. I've probably replaced at least 50 other plug-ins with this one exceptional beast. I use it for everything - basic tone shaping, compression, saturation, reverb/delay, and then all kinds of special effects when needed. The entire Nuro lineup is great (I have nothing to do with the company), but if I had to pick one desert island plug-in, Blockchain would be it!
I'd pay for some of these effects on their own -- but the fact that they're included in a plugin that encourages experimenting with every other effect it includes is practically a steal, despite the already relatively low price!
Endless Possibilities, Yet Deceptively Simple. First off, the sounds that each module can produce are top notch and I'd put them up with just about any dedicated plugin I already own. And, the overall breadth of effects modules available in Blockchain is pretty astounding for the price. But where Blockchain really shines is when you start splitting the internal routing into different bands or mid/side parallel pathways and process them independently - the possibilities really open up and leave other similar multi-FX plugins in the dust."
